NALA Coach Registration 2020

NALA Coaches,

Thank you for your commitment to the community youth lacrosse program by volunteering to help this Spring 2019 season.  We appreciate your time and hope we can provide support to you and your team.  We do need you to complete this registration and the following in order to move forward with your spring coaching season:

Background Checks Required:  All coaches and parent volunteers are required to complete and submit the enclosed form to NA Parks and Recreation and need to be completed and approved prior to the first practice with the team.  Please complete the enclosed and share with any other parent volunteers that may be involved with your team. (Background Check Consent)

Positive Coaching Alliance:  New Albany Parks has announced a partnership with Positive Coaching Alliance. The PCA provides a variety of tools and courses to equip coaches with information and strategies to provide a positive and character-building experience for the athlete. We are asking all youth Lacrosse coaches to complete the DOUBLE-GOAL COACH®: Coaching for Winning and Life Lessons instructions and passwords will be sent via email for you to complete this online course (PCA Voucher Code).

Concussions:  Please note, Ohio Law requires youth sports organizations to have all parents sign off on a basic informational sheet on concussions that Ohio Department of Health requires.   Under the Ohio law, a young athlete showing concussion symptoms must be removed from a game or practice and not be permitted to return to competition for at least 24 hours or until cleared by an authorized physician or licensed health-care provider.

US Lacrosse Membership:  Membership in US Lacrosse is required of all New Albany coaches, players  and on-field volunteers as it provides us with the liability insurance as well as valuable coaching tools and educational resources.  Please go to the link at US Lacrosse website    or attached is the paper application form (US Lacrosse Form)

Note: If needed NALA will reimburse coaches for any costs associated with completing these requirements. Please contact Brent Lewis-NALA Treasurer.

As in the past, NALA intends to have a parent/player/coach meeting February 12, 2020 at the New Albany Middle School Cafeteria to meet your teams and share schedules, expectations and enthusiasm for the upcoming 2020 season.   (girls program meets at 6:30p; boys program meets at 7:30p) At this meeting, we will also share the 2020 lacrosse field maps (including location of portable defibrillators) at Bevelhymer Park.
